From its base on the seabed, it is the third largest volcano on earth, after Mauna Loa and Manua Kea in Hawaii. The national park of the same name was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO on 28.06.2007. Las Cañadas of Teide offer a fascinating variety of shapes and colors. Huge rivers of petrified lava, eroded rocks, volcanoes, vents and craters delight visitors on a hike through the national park. Wonderful flowers and gentle aromas offer a unique ambience in spring and summer. Sunrise or stargazing – numerous companies offer excursions to Mount Teide and the National Park. Please note that a ticket must be purchased to use the cable car up Mount Teide. The number is limited, so it is advisable to buy the tickets in advance.
